How to: Fit and adjust an Erika's Originals MN Strap
In this blog post we look at how to fit your new Erika's Originals MN strap. To unlock maximum comfort from your new elasticated MN watch strap, you must fit the strap to your watch. We have put together a video that shows exactly how you fit your new Erika's Original strap to your watch. The process differs slightly to changing a watch strap normally and does require a good quality spring bar tool.
To fit an MN strap, you will need a case cushion or soft cloth, a good quality spring bar tool and a flat surface.
Here is the step by step process for changing your watch strap to an Erika's Originals MN watch strap:
- Locate the notched hardware on the back of the strap.
- Open up the strap by slipping it out from the notch.
- With your watch laying face down, place the strap between the lugs of your watch.
- Secure one side of the strap with the a spring bar using the forked end of your spring bar tool.
- Ensure the spring bar is in place, you can use the strap to locate the spring bar in to the pin holes.
- Repeat step 4 and 5 for the other side of the strap.
- Once both sides of the strap are firmly in place with the spring bars, slide the strap back through the notched hardware to create a continuous loop again.
- Adjust the size of the strap by sliding the keeper further from the watch for a larger fit and closer for a smaller fit.
- Your watch should have a snug, comfortable feel. You can continue to micro adjust the strap to get it perfect.
Top tips:
- If you are having trouble fitting the strap, make sure that the spring bars are inserted correctly.
- You might find the strap a little tricky to put on initially but it does get easier. We have found that positioning the hardware as close to the middle of the underside of your wrist as possible can help.
- If the strap is too loose or too tight, you can adjust the length of the strap with the sliding keeper.
- In hot or cold weather, or during exercise your strap may feel tighter or looser, adjusting the slider will fix this.
- If you have an older Erika's Originals strap, it may not have a notch, in this case, simply follow the same instructions leaving out steps 1, 2 and 7.
