The origin of the G10 Nylon watch strap was woven by the British military back in the 1970's. There is a lot of similarity between the standard issue G10 Nylon strap available back then and the 'standard' Nylon strap that we offer today in terms of design.
At the time of their introduction, G10 nylon straps were only available in one color, grey, and in one size, 20mm. There was a need for British military soldiers to have a watch strap that was more durable and versatile than anything they had access to, and the G10 was the ideal solution to their problem. As a matter of fact, many of the watches issued to the military back then had fixed bars which didn't pose a problem for the newly designed G10 nylon straps. A strap could be attached to a watch without the need for tools, and the strap could be used by soldiers in the event of an emergency.
Today the humble G10 watch strap has been seen fitted to just about any tool watch. They are very comfortable and look great. The design of the original G10 watch strap has evolved and is now available in numerous configurations like our premium or seatbelt nylon straps.
